Express Yourself With MUZIGAE MANSION’s Artistic Makeup

Express Yourself With MUZIGAE MANSION’s Artistic Makeup

Some of you already guessed this from our teaser video, but now we’ve made it official – MUZIGAE MANSION is the latest member of the Skin Cupid family! We’ve been so excited to bring this brand on board with us, and we know that a lot of you are already fans of their vibey packaging and slick twists on classic makeup products. If you’re not – well then, allow us to introduce you. MUZIGAE MANSION pride themselves on finding ways to “kick away the boredom of everyday life” – finding magic and beauty in the objects we take for granted every day, and treating makeup as a form of wearable art that conveys moods, emotions, and sensations. If you’re the kind of person who’s been accused of having too much Main Character energy, or you like to walk down the street listening to intense music and pretending you’re in a movie (this writer is guilty on both counts), then MUZIGAE is the brand for you.

It might be their unique, ultra-stylish packaging that first racked up the view counts on Instagram and TikTok (think lip tints housed in what look like crumpled-up tubes of paint, or cushion foundations with puffy contours and wrapped in twine to resemble an overstuffed parcel), but its their commitment to high-quality formulations and innovative textures that really earned them their die-hard fans – like watery lip tints that blur to an un-smudgeable matte finish, and ultra-fine blushes that add luminous colour while also smoothing away imperfections.

Each collection is highly curated, with carefully chosen shades designed to evoke specific feelings and atmospheres – from the first flushes of love, to the feeling of anonymity in a big city. For MUZIGAE MANSION, makeup isn’t just about picking colours that suit you – it’s about creating a whole aesthetic narrative to fit your mood for the day. However you want to express yourself, MUZIGAE MANSION is there to help you tell the story you want to tell, and embody the persona you want to embody.

So, what part do you want to play today? In this post, we’ve put together three looks for three London-based archetypes, breaking down who they are, what they wear, and what their perfect MUZIGAE MANSION products are. Whether you want to be the object of envy at every party, look like the cutest creature outside of a slice-of-life anime, or dress like an edgy art student with a mysterious past, we’ve got the digest you need below. It’s an age of vibes, people – we’re just living in it.

Vibe 1: The It-Girl

Who she is: Always on the go, the It-Girl still manages to get invited to everything, despite having no active social media accounts and declining most events because she’s “out of the country”. When she is in town, she seems to survive on canapé s and whiskey sours as she hops from party to party, talking as fluently about Czechoslovakian films from the ‘70s as she does about Jonathan Anderson leaving Loewe. Her source of income? Mysterious – but she decamps to Europe every summer, re-emerging in London only at the end of September with a deep tan, coy smile, and torrid stories to tell. You’d love to hate her, but she’s too damn cool.

What she wears: The It-Girl loves a statement piece – in fact, the more the merrier – but her clothes never end up wearing her rather than her wearing them. Sculptural jackets and unusual silhouettes à la Commes des Garcons and Schiaparelli abound, paired with jewellery she picked up at a stall in Essaouira and boots she found at a market in Cuzco. Endlessly and unexpectedly stylish without any apparent effort, you’ll always wish you were wearing the same thing as her when you cross paths.

Where to find her: If you have to ask, you’ll never know…

Her makeup look: Minimalist makeup complements her bold fashion choices – bare or semi-matte skin is enlivened by a bold lip, graphic eye liner, or sculpted brows.

Her favourite Muzigae Mansion products:

Objet Liquid in 004 - Affection

Designed to infuse art and the unfamiliar into everyday life, MUZIGAE MANSION’s Objet Liquid is a lip tint with an airy, velvety texture and a silky matte finish. This shade – a soft berry-red pink – is both seductive and lively, and thanks to the formula’s fixing system, it will stay put from morning to night – even if she’s starting the day in Paris and ending it in Venice. The intense colour payoff is perfect for girls who want to be the centre of attention, and the packaging – designed to look like a crumpled tube of paint – is just as chic as the rest of her.

Icy Glow in 07 - Noble

Available in an array of rose-inspired hues, MUZIGAE MANSION’s Icy Glow combines vivid colour, lip-plumping volume, and a glossy finish, to add a stylish finishing note to any makeup look. The high-shine oil complex and lip-plumping Vegan Collagen in the formula ensure maximum impact with minimum effort, and this shade – an elegant, warm-toned taupe colour – will guarantee she catches eyes without looking try-hard.

Fitting Blush in 04 - Vibe

With a base made up of vegan-certified ingredients, MUZIGAE MANSION’s Fitting Blush delivers clear, natural-looking colour while also soaking up oils, minimising shine, and blurring enlarged pores (not that the It-Girl has them). This dusty nude shade adds liveliness to her complexion without overwhelming her vintage designer outfit.

Vibe 2: The Cute Girl

Who she is: A tiny creature that must be protected at all costs, the Cute Girl is an introvert with a small but fiercely loyal circle of friends. Nearly always to be found in her kitchen removing a baked treat from the oven, she possesses an encyclopaedic knowledge of green tea, and her dream is to move to Fukuoka and settle into a quiet, rural life among the flora and fauna (i.e., live in a Studio Ghibli movie). She’s been in a happy relationship since the age of 16, but that doesn’t stop her from being a sad-girl-pop enthusiast, or from enjoying the occasional browse on the smutty side of AO3. You can rely on her for anything, from emotional support to hand sanitiser after your picnic at London Fields.

What she wears: The Cute Girl loves romantic, feminine looks and fabrics – flowy or puffy dresses, interesting riffs on the ballet flat, lace, tulle, and broderie anglaise. Think Sandy Liang and Molly Goddard dresses, boat-necked tops with a nipped-in waist, bow-adorned socks, and bags adorned with an infinite number of plushie charms that are almost as adorable as she is.

Where to find her: Lining up for a new drop outside Pop Mart, or journaling and communing with her animal friends in Holland Park.

Her makeup look: Sultry without even meaning to be, the Cute Girl look is characterised by flushed cheeks, petal-pink lips, dewy skin, and freckles in the summer.

Objet Liquid in 023 - Dawn Rose

This matte-finish lip tint is infused with soothing and nourishing Rosa Damascena Flower Water and Rosa Centifolia Flower Extract to condition dry, chapped lips, while 3 layers of Hyaluronic Acid lock hydration into each layer of the skin to ensure her pout remains lush and dewy. This romantic rose shade with neutral undertones complements sun-kissed cheeks and a wide-eyed look – perfect for cosplaying as her favourite slice-of-life anime character.

Icy Glow in 01 - Petal

Supported by a high-shine oil complex which coats the lips and helps keep them plush and healthy-looking, this lip tint leaves you with a volumised, super-dewy pout that evokes freshness and youth. This bubblegum-pink shade is ideal for girlish, cool-toned makeup looks that aren’t too heavy.

Fitting Blush in 03 - Ecstasy

This vegan powder-type blush, which comes in a picture-perfect range of pastel shades, adds a wash of colour while also blurring imperfections and controlling shine, leaving her with doll-like skin. The super-fine texture of this energetic coral-pink shade makes for a natural-looking flush that mimics the headiness of a first crush – and she likes to dot a little on the end of her nose, too, for a sweet-but-sultry caught-some-sun effect.

Vibe 3: The Art Student

Who she is: Bohemian bourgeois with a touch of the gothic about her, the Art Student can be found shuttling between the environs of the Courtauld, Goldsmiths, or Central Saint Martins and the bars of East London. From humble origins, somehow now the majority of her friends are aristocrats or fledgling movie stars – except for her extremely hot and extremely edgy boyfriend with a mysterious past. She makes abstract sculptures inspired by an unspecified event in her childhood, and likes winter because “there’s less pressure to be happy all the time”.

What she wears: Cawley outwear, vintage Issey Miyake trousers, Margaret Howell kilt skirts, Doc Martens speckled with paint, oversized tailored shirts she borrows from her boyfriend, and a hodgepodge of jewellery, from silver heirloom rings to a necklace made from a shark’s tooth.

Where to find her: Outside the Spurstowe Arms with a Fitzcarraldo edition under her arm, watching a Michael Haneke movie at the ICA, or soulfully staring into space at the Haggerston Overground station.

Her makeup look: Her clothes may be understated and monochrome (when she’s feeling lively, she’ll add some dove grey or taupe into the mix), but the Art Student lets loose with her makeup. Think of a glazed berry aesthetic – trendy lilac blush and plum-coloured lips that look as if she’s just finished a glass of red wine (which she probably has).

Her favourite Muzigae Mansion products:

Fitting Blush in 01 - Odd

Available in five pastel-toned shades, this blush delivers high colour payoff and fits close to the skin thanks to its finely milled powder and ultra-adherent technology. The texture is so light that it can be layered multiple times without caking – perfect for her more intense looks. Plus, the packaging is just as impactful as its formula; crafted with vegan leather and high-gloss silver elements, it fits right in with the rest of her monochrome aesthetic. This shade, a cool-toned orchid lavender, is trendy without feeling mainstream – perfect for looking edgy without being unapproachable.

Objet Liquid in 018 - Knockout

Nobody’s going to steal her thunder while she’s wearing this magenta-coloured, matte-finish lip tint, housed in imaginative packaging modelled after a half-used tube of paint – let’s just hope she doesn’t lose it among the rest of her art supplies.

Icy Glow in 02 - Bloom

Delivering a high-gloss finish and a zippy, deep-pink rose colour, this lip tint also works to infuse her lips with moisture and eye-catching plumpness, thanks to skin-softening Glycerin, niosome-encapsulated Panthenol, and Vegan Collagen. Forming a protective film over lips, it inhibits moisture loss and smudging, even through meals. The subtle, rosy fragrance adds a sweet note to her overall edginess, and uplifts the senses, too – perfect for cheering her up after a depressing arthouse film.
